Okinawa Greenhouses July 2015

"Okinawa Greenhouse," was painted from a photograph I had taken in 2013 in Okinawa, Japan down a backroad from my husband and I's favorite Japanese Pizza restaurant that goes by the name "Pizza in the Sky." After my husband and I ate lunch we went on an adventure up in the gorgeous hills of Nago; northern region of the island. As the cluttered jungle had parted I noticed this peaceful hidden family-owned farm and captured the image as a treasurous memory. "The day we came upon such an adorable and quaint sight."

Copy of Diana Mulder July 2015

This is a painting I came across while searching for inspiration on Pinterest. The colors and mark-making layout really drew me into this piece. Made me feel like I was looking at a orange sunset glowing lightly on the clouds above. The loose organic brushstrokes really carry your eye all around the entire piece. The color contrasts are so bold and brilliant. Check out the link below to find this piece on my pinterest page and explore other pieces that inspire me.

Moroccan Patterned Floral June 2015

Experimenting with this piece in my studio, I used stencil and acrylic paints. Started with toning my CanvasSTRONG masonite gallery-wrapped canvas, I was looking for a tattered and loose background and then coming in with a stencil on top allowing that background color to fade in and out of the pattern giving it an old world look. Then center-staging my subject on top giving the petals a pop with a metalic pearl acrylic. My intentions was to create a designal piece for a moroccan style home.

Gold on Tan and Brown Abstract January 2015

Inspiration drived from other abstract painting of sailboats on a horizon. Allowing the painting to take me where it wanted me to go with this one. First applying the mixtures of tans on the stretched canvas and then laying in the darker browns mixture and lastly topping the gold metallic acrylic with a pallete knife.

Family of Three Flowers May 2015

Family of three Flowers is an acrylic piece on stretched canvas. My objective of this piece was to portray that the flowers were a family reaching out to one another in a happy and bright setting. Giving the flowers a personality in the juxtaposition.
